SAR 6 first setup in the field: from placing the sensors to the first listening
Steps to take the system out of its carrying case, place the six sensors on the debris, connect them to the control unit and listen for the first time.
Check the equipment
Take the control unit, the six sensors, the connection cables and the headphones out of the carrying case. Check that cables and connectors are undamaged and the battery is charged.
Place the sensors
Place the sensors at different points of the area you want to listen to, in firm contact with the debris surface. Spread them out so you can compare the signals from each point.
Connect the cables
Connect each sensor to a channel on the control unit with a connection cable. Note which sensor is on which channel and route the cables so nobody steps on or pulls them.
Switch on the control unit
Switch on the control unit and check on the screen that each channel shows a signal. Tapping lightly next to a sensor confirms that its channel responds.
Start listening
Plug in the headphones, choose the channel to listen to and start listening when surrounding noise is reduced. Compare what you hear with the visual analysis screens.
